JAGUAR XJS HE 1990 5.3 V12 Coupe  - Drives well (Has a water leak from LH manifold) - needs paint - Trim in good cond
***GREAT PROJECT***

Up for sale is a JAGUAR XJS HE 1990 5.3 V12 Coupe  179021 kms - Drives well (Has a water leak from LH manifold - see below) - needs paint - Trim in good condition. The vehicle is the "HE" update model that was released with the High-Efficiency heads to the V12 engine. It is a rare late 1989 - 1990 model that has the updated Marelli ignition system.

The interior was also updated to the Recaro style bucket seats that were both heated & had electronic lumbar support (Drivers seat need piping repair - see photo). The later model steering wheel was also fitted (this one has dried & would benefit from some Leatherique conditioning) The body is in good condition & there are a couple of bits of rust showing from sitting (see pictures).

The vehicle has the original delivery books & service history showing the maintenance of the vehicle over the years. It also has the sales docket when it was re-sold in 1994 from the Dealer. This history is nice to have as it is rare to see these original folder & books with these vehicles.
This vehicle is an ideal project where someone would end up with an excellent investment as these vehicles are becoming very rare these days & you do not see many late models come up for sale. Once the vehicle is repaired & painted they are typically worth $25,000 to $30,000, so we have set a reasonable Reserve price understanding what work is needed to be completed.

This vehicle was purchased with the intention to dismantle for our Spare Parts Department but is in far too good condition to wreck out & deserves to be kept on the road. It still drives very well & feels good on the road. It does not have any major damage at all & only minor work is required.

The engine runs perfectly & just needs the water leak attended to as mentioned above. There are a couple of spare manifolds that were in the boot when the vehicle was purchased with the previous owner intending to perform the repair.

We have had our Independent Jaguar specialist mechanic check the vehicle & has given it a clean bill of health except for the water leak.

  • All the usual Jaguar features that you would expect such as Power steering, Central Locking (still works), Climate control Air Conditioning.
  • The vehicle is fitted with a security cut off system
  • 5.3-litre V12 engine
  • 3-speed Automatic gearbox.
  • Original radio cassette but is not turning on.
  • 15" Tyres & wheels.
  • Still has the original rubber spoiler on the front which unusual as most of these get knocked off when parking too close to the curb,
